Oh I’m just looking for a first-rate prosecutor. Not that I need one right now.
Why, seems like your search has come to an end. Just let me know if there’s anything I can do. Anything else you need, sir?

But a guilty veredict, right? I’d be awesome to see them rott in jail until they die, don’t cha think?
Depends on who it is we are talking about, Mr. Engarde. What is their crime?

A lawyer, huh? So you can totally help me sue some people who are being rather obnoxious, yes? I star in the Nickel Samurai; its a sequel to the Steel samurai and Pink princess.
Well, if you sued them it would be my job to get a verdict for them, yes. (The-…………bingo!) I see~ (Maybe that will come in handy at some point.)

Another persecutor, huh? The name’s Matt Engarde, dude. I play the main character in one of those kids shows that Edgeworth boners about are kinda popular these days.
(Persec—…?) Er, not really. I’m a lawyer, you know? Ah, so you’re an actor? What show do you play in, Mr. Engarde? (… It couldn’t be…~?)
themanwhomastermindthegame:
H-hello Mr. Porstman… I’m Souta Raushiro.. Nice to meet you
Yes, it’s nice to meet you too, Ms. Raushiro.
[He stretches his hand out for a handshake.]

Maybe? Doesn’t sound very convincing to me. But don’t fret. With a little help, I believe you’ll do just fine.

Of course, we’re prosecutors, information is everything.
Indeed. Now tell me, do you honestly believe you have gathered enough information for the realisation of your plan already?
portsman started following you
perfectlyspoiledprosecutor:
What kind of ace up the sleeve?
Information. You need to know the opponent’s weaknesses, as much about their profession as about their everyday lives. If you find a way to exhaust them outside of the actual battle, their powers will be decreased the moment of the face-off.

I enjoy doing it though sweetie~
You should! There’s no point in doing a job you don’t like to do, no?

Oh wow~
That is a lot.
Practicing magic takes up most my time.
I see. It seems sports are to me what magic is to you then, no? It’s always nice to meet people who take their hobbies to heart like that! Then again, it’s just job, so I guess it’s more than just a hobby to you.

But I also have a fresher perspective on everything. He may have more experience, but he’s also set in older methods, whereas I’m right off a successful bar exam, and have learned the ways of newer court techniques.
An athlete can learn as much as he wants about the game - it’s experience he needs to succeed. … That or an ace up his sleeve.

You like any other sport apart from tennis?
In fact, I do! I play soccer, dodgeball and basketball, too. Also I jog and swim quite regularly. Well, I suppose sports consume most of my free time.

Not if you have more time to ‘play the game’ as you say. Then you have that advantage against your opponent, who in our case is Mr. Edgeworth.
I wouldn’t say that. The real match only begins when all players are set. Everything before that is nothing but preparation. So, the longer you play, the better you know the court. And Mr. Edgeworth has been playing...

You should come see me some time, my shows are always fabulous~
-Max glances at the medal around Portsman’s neck curiously.-
So what’s this for~?
Hm, yes, I just might do that!
Oh, that? Why, that’s just one of the medals I won at tennis competitions. You should come to see me some time, too.

You also forget I have three years on Mr. Edgeworth as a starting prosecutor. He started at age 20, I am 17.
What is time, really? It doesn’t matter when the game starts, all that matters are the results, no?

Hi there, fabulous to meet you Jacques~
I’m the one and only Maximillion Galactica, fabulous magician!
Why, yes, it’s nice to meet you, Maximillion. Are you a magician of some kind?

perfectlyspoiledprosecutor:
Why would I not be able to? Prosecuting prodigy, remember? I think I’m quite capable of anything I want.
That’s right, but wasn’t Mr. Edgeworth considered one as well? I believe it will take a little more than just ambition to dethrone that man.

Jacques Portsman, prosecutor. And you are…?

perfectlyspoiledprosecutor:
Why? We still want the same goal, just in different manners.
Well, do you think you’ll be able to achieve yours, as matters stand now?

Serious about what? Beating Mr. Edgeworth?
Yeah. Seems like I was mistaken, though. Sorry about that.

Simple, face off against every prosecutor I meet, and have my court record surpass his.
Oh, what a pity then. And I almost believed you were being serious about it.

perfectlyspoiledprosecutor:
Of course I’m ambitious, how else is a prosecutor supposed to succeed?
True, true. Ah, it’s always a pleasure to meet hard-working people. Now, Prosecutor Ichiyanagi, if you don’t mind me asking… How do you intend to achieve that goal? Mr. Edgeworth is a tough nut to crack, after all.

Yes, I would be rather fond of that. I do plan on becoming a better prosecutor than he is.

If by ‘know him’, you mean I’m going to surpass him as a prosecutor in no time at all, then yes, I know him very well. I take it you’re familiar with Mr. Edgeworth?
I guess you could call it that. We share some memories, being neighbors and all - office-wise that is. But let us not talk about those trivial matters! So, if I heard right, you want to crush our dear...

This man must be the epitome of humankind. Like a highb100d human, he is practiced in noble sports and has a certain attitude that makes him seem better than others. Proud, you would say, you bow to him.

Maybe it’s because we’re too busy flexing our wit instead.
Besides, I get plenty of “physical activity” riding my bike all over town, thanks very much. But you have fun with your sports. Yeah.
But good physical health is just as important as mental health, no? Perhaps you should pay a little more attention to your body, Mr. Justice. It won’t always stay this fit...
